Batura Maztagh- I
 


Batura I is the highest peak in the ranges of Batura. Its height is 7795 m from East face and 7794 m from West Face. This region was first detected by RCF Schombrg in 1947. It can be approached from Balur and Kukuay glaciers. Different expeditions have made efforts to get victory, the German Austrian expedition tried in 1954 and failed but next Anglo- German faced great causality due to avalanche in the height of 5,639mt. The luck repeatedly exercised but first won in 1976, German Goppinger Himalayan expedition of Dr. Alexander Schlee, consisting of six persons, went to the area to climb the peak. After setting up base camp and five other camps, two of its members Hubert Bleicher & Herbert Oberhofer climbed the peak.

 
 

Itinerary :

Day 1:ISLAMABAD
Arrive Islamabad. Meeting with Liaison Officer. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2:ISLAMABAD
Am briefing at the Ministry of Tourism. Overnight in hotel.

Day 3:CHILAS
Drive on KKH towards Chilas. 12 to 14 hours drive. Overnight in hotel.

Day 4: PASU
6 to 7 hours drive to Passu. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5 YUNZ
Trek to Yunz 6 hours trek. Overnight in camp.

Day 6 WASHK
Trek to Kirgas Washk 6 to 7 hours trek. Overnight in camps.

Day 7 MAIDAN
6 hour trek to Maidan. Overnight in camps.

Day 8 BATURA I BASE CAMP
6 to 7 hours trek to Batura I base camp. Overnight in camps.

Day 9-37 CLIMBING
No. of days depends on weather, fitness, and experience of the climbers.

Day 38 MAIDAN
Trek to Maidan. Overnight in camps.

Day 39 WASHK
Trek to Kirgas Washk. Overnight in camps.

Day 40 YANZ
Trek to Yanz. Overnight in camps.

Day 41 PASU
Trek to Pasu. Overnight in hotel.

Day 42 CHILAS
Drive to Chilas. Overnight in hotel.

Day 43 ISLAMABAD
Drive to Islamabad. Overnight in hotel.

Day 44 ISLAMABAD
De-briefing in the Ministry of Tourism.

Day 45 FLY HOME.
