Chogolungma Base Camp
Itinerary
:
DAY 01: ARRIVAL RAWALPINDI
Upon arrival met and transfer to your hotel in Rawalpindi. After a short rest drives to Islamabad for trek briefing at Ministry of Tourism and obtain trekking permit. Overnight hotel.
DAY 02: SKARDU OR CHILAS
Fly to Skardu, If unable to fly, same day we will drive to Skardu, spending a night in Chilas.
Note: The cost of flight To/From Skardu or drive To/From Skardu is not included in our price and it will be given as separate or additional price. Overnight hotel.
DAY 03: SKARDU
Emergency day, in case flight does not operate on day 02 this day will be use to transfer the members by road from Chilas to Skardu. Total drive time from Islamabad to Skardu is 22-24 hours. Overnight hotel.
DAY 04: SKARDU
Free day.
DAY 05: SKARDU TO ARANDU
Our journey will proceed early morning towards Hyderabad that is the main junction of Basha valley and Braldu valley, from here we will move left where we will cross Braldu river moving side by side of Basho river. In Chutron Gust House lunch will be served, once it was most religious region where settled the religious dignitaries. The jeep road is comparatively narrow, once it was linked and jeeps could go up to Arandu village.
DAY 06: ARANDU TO PUKPUN
A short walk will take to the snout of the Chogo-Lungma and we proceed to traverse the glacier and we trek continuously up the village. Excellent views of the Rong Kush Kun Peak to the south and numerous peaks and towers of the lower Chogo Lungma range. 5 to 6 hours trek. Over night camping.
DAY 07: PUKPUN TO KHUROMAL
A most pleasant day of trekking of a moderate trail and panoramic views through out the day. At Khuromal we have excellent towering views of Kapaltang Kun and the snowy pyramid Peaks. One will also be able to see Lila Peak and countless others to the west. Camping in Willow Grove and 5 to 6 hours trek.
DAY 08: KHUROMAL TO BOLOCHO
Trek back to the glacier for an hour and a half. Back on to well-worn trail where both bear and Ibex treks can bee seen. One can have the amazing views of upper Chongo-Lungma and Haramosh glacier. 4 to 5 hours trek.
DAY 09: BOLOCHO TO LAILA BASE CAMP.
Strenuous trek across the moraine to the middle of the glacier. The Laila base camp is very special but few have witnessed. 5 to 6 hours trek. Over night camping.
DAY 10: EXPLORE LAILA B. CAMP.
Rest day.
DAY 11: LAILA BASE CAMP TO HARAMOSH LA
We walk the steep hillside for a couple of hours and than walk on the Haramosh glacier where we keep continue walking several hours over white glacier. After 6 hours trek we will be arriving at the top of Haramosh La (4985). This is literally the high point of our trek.
DAY 12: BASE OF LA
Steep descents down in to the Haramosh valley where we traverse steep meadows and camp on meadows. It’s a very tranquil campsite. 4 to 6 hours trek.
DAY 13: BASE LA TO KUTWAL
It is moderate trekking down towards huts. We will walk amidst the shepherd’s houses. We will find the goats, sheers and cows busy grazing. We reach the lake by early afternoon, where we can go swim and enjoy the Haramosh views. 4 hours trek.
DAY 14: KUTWAL TO ISKERE
This trek is very pleasant. We will move steep down through birch, pine and willow forests. We reach there late afternoon. Over night camping.
DAY 15: ISKERE TO SASSI
We walk along the side of the Iskere aqueduct down to Dassu. We descend in to the arid level of the valley and camp in orchard. We can witness the Grape Juice making and grinding wheat.
DAY 16: SASSI TO GILGIT
It will be our final trekking day, after a couple of hours walk we will be enter a small village Sassi from where we transfer to our jeeps and back to Gilgit. Over night hotel.
DAY:17: GILGIT TO BESHAM
Return back via same route.
DAY 18: BESHAM TO RAWALPINDI
Coach journey 6 to 7 hours. Over night hotel.
DAY 19: RAWALPINDI
DAY 20: RAWALPINDI TO ONWARDS.
Transfer to airport to embark your country.
