MASHERBRUM BASE CAMP TREK

ITINERARY

DAY 01 ARRIVAL RAWALPINDI
Upon arrival met and transfer to your hotel in Rawalpindi. After a short rest drives to Islamabad for trek briefing at Ministry of Tourism and obtain trekking permit. Overnight hotel.

DAY 02 SKARDU OR CHILAS

Fly to Skardu, If unable to fly, same day we will drive to Skardu, spending a night in Chilas.

DAY 03 SKARDU
Emergency day, in case flight does not operate on day 02 this day will be use to transfer the members by road from Chilas to Skardu. Total drive time from Islamabad to Skardu is 22-24 hours. Overnight hotel.

Day 04  SKARDU TO HUSHE

After breakfast depart for the beautiful valley of Khaplu which lies at the banks of River Shyok. Travelling amidst towering barren mountains and green valleys we arrive at the lovely village of Khaplu (2562 m). After a small break at Khaplu we continue our journey towards Hushe via. Right after Khaplu we will cross the Shyok River and enter the Hushe valley. Hushe, the last village up the valley, is about 140 kilometers east of Skardu and is the starting point for treks to various summer pastures up five glaciers. Overnight at Hushe village.
 
DAY 05  HUSHE TO BRUMUMBLAHMAH

Start trekking to Masherbrum valley, camping at Brumumblahmah.

DAY 06  BRUMUMBLAHMAH TO MASHERBRUM BASE CAMP

A short walk to Masherbrum base camp. Afternoon free to relax amidst beautiful surroundings and enjoy the wonderful views of 7,821m Masherbrum.

DAY 07  MASHERBRUM BASE CAMP TO SAICHO

We cross the Masherbrum valley and descend its eastern flanks passing the herders settlement of Shershsh on the way to our evening camp at Saicho.
 
DAY 08  SAICHO TO SPANGSIR

Another short day walking alongside the Charaksa glacier to the small campsite at Spangsir located high on the banks of a glacial moraine over looking a sea of ice.

DAY 09  SPANGSIR TO K7 BASE CAMP

Following the glacier to its head we reach the broad sandy plain of k7 base camp overlooked by the rock pinnacles of 6,934m K7 and the snow covered face of 7,281m k6.

DAY 10  K7 BASE CAMP TO SAICHO

Walk along the north side of the Charaksa glacier to the campsite at Saicho.

DAY 11 SAICHO TO KHAPLU VIA HUSHE

Return via same route to Hushe and reach Khaplu. Khaplu is beautifully situated, spread across a wild alluvial fan, which slopes steeply down from an amphitheater of the mountain to the south. Distance 2 to 3 hrs.

DAY 12  KHAPLU TO SKARDU

Return via same route to Skardu. Overnight at Skardu

DAY 13  SKARDU TO RAWALPINDI OR CHILAS

Early in the morning fly to Islamabad, if unable to fly same day drive to Chilas. Overnight hotel.

DAY 14 CHILAS TO RAWALPINDI

Upon arrival transfer to your hotel in Rawalpindi. Evening sightseeing. If unable to fly on day 25th. this day will be use to transfer from Skardu  to Islamabad by road.

DAY 15  RAWALPINDI TO ONWARDS

De-briefing at Ministry of Tourism Islamabad. Evening transfer to airport for your onward flight to abroad.
