Since 1984, as he will remind me, because he has a memory for dates and events. He is the owner and manager for a tour guide business from Skardu. In the summers, he takes groups of Japanese and European adventure tourists, trekkers and mountaineers into the Karakoram Mountains. As a young man, he was always thoughtful, but age has hardened his thoughtfulness into gravitas. His thick hair and beard, which were once coal black, are graying now. In the back of the jeep, surrounded by luggage and vegetables, he turned his prayer-beads as we drove.” Mustansar Hussain Tarar in his book “ K-2 Kahani” (story of K-2) writes “ Suddenly I was thinking about Isobel Shaw, a writer of many books on Northern Areas of Pakistan, I had met Isobel on the banks of Satpara lake, she accompanied by old mountaineer Andre Rich had returned from Concordia and their guide Muhammad Ali Changazi was with them.” Andrew Craig while presenting his book “ Summit Fever” to Muhammad Ali Changazi wrote“ A friend and guide in the wilderness! I hope you’re well and happy and remain so till we meet again. ’87".
